Building Links to Academia
The academic community has much expertise to offer national security issues and yet specific knowledge of where this can be sourced is not always readily available. In order to improve access, JSaRC is inviting universities to indicate their relevant security research and innovation capabilities and establish key contact points for further interaction. To enable this, we have developed a brief survey on line which takes about 5 minutes to fill in. See here

Following on from our first Academic Engagement Forum, held in June, we are really pleased to announce that we have booked a second Academic Forum on 16 October 2018. This will be hosted at a venue in the Manchester area.  Full details, including specific themes, will be sent out shortly.

Security and Policing Home Office Event 2019

A key focus is to demonstrate the opportunities presented by innovative cutting edge technology. We’ll be in touch in the coming months with further updates and insights into how your organisation might get involved in this exciting event. For more information please click here

New Competition Document Available: ‘Airport Vehicle Checkpoint Screening’?
The Defence and Security Accelerator (DASA) has launched a new competition on behalf of the Future Aviation Security Solutions programme (FASS) focusing on vehicle checkpoint (VCP) screening at airports. To view the full competition document, use the link here

Be Aware! Changes to Home Office Email
We’ve begun the process of removing the ‘gsi’ from our email addresses, so @homeoffice.gsi.gov.uk will become @homeoffice.gov.uk, in line with other government departments. The change is part of a wider government initiative to remove the gsi domain, which has become an unnecessary addition.

Cyber Security Apprenticeship – Risk Analyst pathway on-programme modules – consultation

City & Guilds are developing the on-programme regulated knowledge qualifications that form part of the Cyber Security Technologist apprenticeship (risk analyst pathway).

The outline content has been provided by the Tech Partnership to Awarding Organisations – they have expanded on these where necessary into three single-unit qualifications.

They are asking for people to review the three units and complete a brief questionnaire as part of our consultation on these.  If you would like to do this then please email us (info@ukcybersecurityforum.com) and we will email the documents to you.

They would like the questionnaire returned to them by Friday 31 August.
