Qatar Central Bank Cyber Security Conference, Doha – Deadline: 8th June 2018

The Department for International Trade Defence and Security Organisation recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding on cyber security cooperation with the Qatar Central Bank. We hope to use this as a means to promote UK commercial cyber security solutions to the QCB and Qatari financial institutions, working in partnership with the QCB to boost mutual security and prosperity. More details will follow on this in due course.

In the meantime I wanted to let you know about the Qatar Central Bank’s Information Security conference. This is an annual event held in Doha, this year taking place 18 – 19 November. The QCB are interested in having UK firms running technical workshops or speaking at the conference. This would be an opportunity to talk about some of the challenges for cyber security across the range of people, process and technology and to boost company profiles through the solutions you offer. There would also be an opportunity to meet with DIT/British Embassy staff while there. Please note that the costs of this opportunity would have to be borne by respective companies as there is no UK Government funding support for it.

If this is of interest to you please contact cyber@trade.gov.uk by 8 June setting out what your offer would be in terms of a workshop or speech. DIT will then provide options to the QCB.

Kind regards,

Paul Davison | Assistant Head, Cyber Security | Defence and Security Organisation |
Department for International Trade
