Department for International Trade Mission to Lima – 4-8 Feb 2018

Dear Friends and Associates,

As part of our on-going commitment to making UK SMEs aware of events, activities and opportunities that might encourage and facilitate overseas defence/security business, I am pleased to draw your attention to the following Trade Mission to Peru from 6 – 8 February 2018, led by the Sports Economy Team. It is part of the G2G agreement we have in place with Peru which relates to the Pan Am games in Lima.

The Sixth Pan and Parapan American Games, the fourth largest sporting event in the world will take place in Lima, Peru – running from July 26 – 1 September 2019. In April 2017, the UK and Peru signed a Government to Government (G2G) agreement making the UK their key partner in supporting the delivery of the Lima Games.
Infrastructure contracts for the Games are now underway and operations opportunities are forthcoming in the next few months. There are major opportunities in overlay and operations tenders, as well as transport, marketing, catering, temporary power, security, infrastructure supply chain, legacy and insurance.
To facilitate access to these opportunities, the Department for International Trade is organising a trade mission to Peru from 6 – 8 February 2018.
During this trade mission, the UK delegation will meet and network with the Lima 2019 Organising Committee (COPAL) and relevant Functional Areas, relevant Peruvian companies and infrastructure contractors looking to work with UK companies. Companies will also be able to showcase their expertise through tailored seminars.
The trade mission programme will include:
  • Visit to COPAL at VIDENA Sports Cluster
  • Site visit to the Pan American Village
  • Networking opportunities
  • One-to one meetings with local companies
  • Legacy Conference with UK speakers and local stakeholders
This mission is specifically targeted toward UK companies with experience at working on major sporting events. As such we would only advise registration from companies involved in, and with experience of, this area of sports.
The participation fee is £275 + VAT. Please note all travel costs including visas, flights, accommodation and food are not included in the programme and must be covered by the delegate.
